COUSELLING

New Hope Centre provides counselling and advisory services to people affected by drugs / alcohol. They include


Drug and alcohol abuser and potential users

Parents/family members of drug abusers and alcoholics.

Others who are equally affected by the problems


INFORMATION

NHC serves as an information centre providing information in all matters related to the issue of drug and alcohol abuse. A collection of books on the subject and related matters and also serve as a recreation centre for people of all ages.


REFERRAL

NHC also provides referral services to persons severely affected by drugs/alcohol so that they may receive adequate treatment depending on the type of case.


The centre offers assistance for research in the field.


Creating a climate were persons affected by the problem of drug/alcohol abuse can open up and discuss their problem, receive health with CONFIDENTIALITY, RESPECT FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL’S DIGNITY is assured


helping members of the victim’s family to understand and discuss their feeling and reaction for providing mutual comfort and support through family and group counselling.


Encouraging parents and members of family to seek professional help and support in the form of counselling services to break down the feeling of isolation when face with a drug related situation.


Giving people outside the family a better understanding of how it feels for the family to discover that their child is using drugs, that such people may offer help and support and not criticize or blame the family for the conditions of the child.


Encouraging people to adopt a holistic view taking the mesh of psycho-socio political and economic variables within which this problem is embedded.


Telling parents and teachers and the community that they should not try to manage the problem of drugs/alcohol addiction alone, but should seek counselling and support services for the abusers and themselves.


Other Services: New hope centre also cater services in terms of travelling: Meaning pick up the patient from their residence to the centre if they are in need of any travelling service.
